It's always tricky getting a locksmith to change your locks especially when you love what's already there but only need it to be re-keyed. In my case, it was more complicated since it was an old but unique bolt and hard to match. I called Advance lock and they sent a gentleman whose name was as unique as he was, "Ash". He was appreciative of the unique lock and up for the challenge and did NOT disappoint. He was such a pleasure and I would recommend this place and make sure to ask for, ASH! You won't be disappointed

I went here to have keys . needed 6 copies i thought because it was a lock smith that the keys would be done right unfortunately when i got home the keys did not work .i dont live near there so i did not bring them back. I did go to Bobs locksmith and they made my keys and i had no problem with their keys.

Ash is great he just cut a key, after coming in off of an emergency job I've been going to this place with my family since 1978, and it is the best locksmith on the island! Hands-down. Now my kids go there too.

I needed a motorcycle key made and none of the places close by carried the blanks to duplicate it for me. I almost gave up....
I remembered there is a Lock & Key store where I previously lived and around for many years. I was greeted very pleasantly like I'm a VIP customer. He went straight to the keys and really like a Surgeon he cut the key like magic effortlessly even made sure it fit the motorcycle. It even fit better than the previous key I came with.

Without exception the premier locksmith on Staten Island or dare I say the city
Ash is an incredible craftsman who can likely solve any problem you have, or die trying.
I've used advance on two occasions and in both instances, other shops told me it couldn't be done. I was charged a fair price for both. But what sets this shop above any others in Ash and his commitment to customer service and not overcharging because the customer is in duress.

We were referred to Advance to replace our main entrance door knobs. We contacted Advance and made an appointment with Ash who was amazing! He came to our home to assess our door and guide us towards the best decision. Ash spent time with us on the phone and in person, not only supporting us with any questions we had but also helping us address any unplanned concerns that came along the way. Ash came back to our home again to install the door knobs himself and he even went to my moms house when she locked herself out of her own home! We couldn't be happier to have found Advance Lock and Key and Ash!

I know times are tough, but ripping off a customer is uncalled for. I was charged $100 for and old case for my original FOB. Be wary of the fast talking Ash.
Dear Ash,
I respectfully disagree with your assessment. First of all it was cloudy, not raining. The brand new head you mention is an old piece of plastic from another key that you had in a drawer. I also had told you I had put new batteries in the units, so why would you replace the batteries? As the pictures show, the FOB's are the original units. An honest review will not hurt you but inform you on how to fairly treat your customers.
Very sad how one review can ruin your reputation. I never said you were disrespectful. Nor am I being disrespectful by expressing my honest opinion with facts that substantiate that opinion.
I wish you all the best, but don't react so maliciously to just one review. You will be in business for many years to come!!

It is appalling how one small review can affect you so deeply. Your apparent responses prove my point that your subconscious is bothering you substantially enough to respond in such a harsh manner.

Your review is dishonest that’s why I’m so applaud by it my you should remove your review and come see me if your unhappy I’m always willing to make a customer satisfied my short comings and you should be honest about the service you received by me. It’s not petty it’s called the truth and it is totally unacceptable !!! It’s not my subconscious it’s my reputation and how I feed my family if you don’t see that then there is nothing further to say !!!
Andrew respectfully what’s Sad is that your review about me and my company is totally fictitious if you where dissatisfied you should of called or came back and I would of corrected it immediately for you that’s good business and I’m not acting malicious I think you are acting that way when people like you post false negative statements about small businesses it hurts them just FYI I always treat my customers like family and give them everything they can ever ask of me as a person I have been doing this for 28 years and the shop has been in business for over 53 years the NEW replacement head for your key fob was a replacement unit long story short you came in my shop with 2 broken key fobs they weren’t working the batteries where low I told you I was changing them and you left with 2 complete working ones. I will not justify myself or my business OR TOLERATE anyone that tries to make false statement and try to ruin me and my reputation to anyone especially when they say I ripped them off and took advantage you have my opinion and so do I!! It’s funny how everyone loves me and my shop so it must be YOU with the negativity and the false statements I don’t need you to inform me how to treat my customers they all know I treat them with the upmost respect !!
what you didn’t mention is that you called my shop to program you 2 internet key fobs when you came to my shop I told you they weren’t compatible with your 2008 Honda Pilot. Instead I repaired both your old key fobs installed new batteries because key fobs where not working properly . And installed a brand new head on 1 of them All for $100 what was a very fair price I was upfront and honest with you and your wife from the moment you met me 1 new factory key fob is $175 each programmed so I actually saved you money but for you to say I ripped you off that was totally unacceptable and disrespectful to me I even went outside in the rain and showed you how the key fobs work you complained to me how you friend sold you the car and it was a lemon and he lied to you!
But to hurt me and my reputation is unbelievable

The key to my filing cabinet broke inside the lock. I called at the last minute asking to bring it in and Ash told me to come right over.
Getting it out was tough, we thought he might have to drill it out but he was able to get it out after a few minutes. They also made me an extra copy of the key. It was all for a reasonable price. Everything took about 10mins.
Ash is such a great, friendly, helpful guy. He saw me rolling it from my car and helped me bring it in and also put it back in my car for me.
I didn't know it at the time but they also have a parking lot in the back of the store.

My 6 year old misplaced my 2016 Rogue car keys. They were a flip key fob. I tore up the house looking for them. Went to see Ash at Advance to get a replacement. I was a walkin. He came within 10 minutes to help me and I had a spare key made within 30 minutes. Everyone was very nice in the store. The key ended up being $30 less than another locksmith in staten island. Guess what? I found the key the next day behind my sons fruit loop box. Unfortunately, the owner of Advance told me that the keys CANNOT be reprogrammed for another car so a deal could not be worked out.
The store has a parking lot off Hylan blvd so you dont have to back out on go the main blvd. Very convenient.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
