I honestly wanted to love this place and had high hopes with all the great reviews. Plus I saved my appetite, but the hubby and I didn't like it. We may give it another chance, might of been an off night.

      - I don't mind eating raw veggies but the eggplant stack should have been cooked more. It was way undercooked too hard and tough.
      - Calamari was too salty for my taste.
      - Veal Spiedini - Tasted more of the bread crumbs. Side potatoes were hard too.
      - Short Rib pasta was just okay for $28.
      - The complimentary bread was the only thing I enjoyed.

Went to Il Pallino with the family last Sunday. It truly was a great experience. The indoor Bocce courts were genius. My in-laws love bocce and said they were the nicest courts they had ever seen. So we had a great time playing Bocce. Nice to do something out of the ordinary. Let's get to the food. The fries calamari and eggplant stack were so good. Then the pizza was unbelievable it had fig preserve and prosciutto. Omg. I had the lemon pasta w shrimp which was really a next level dish. I also tasted a little bit of everything. The bone in ribeye was perfect The best part of the night was the dessert, Cabernet sorbet was to die for and the pistachio cream brûlée was like nothing I ever saw before in a restaurant. Great job the place is really a diamond in the ruff.

My friends and I decided to give this place a try for a night out and we were all glad we did. Your meal will begin with "puffy" bread which I would honestly return just to be able to eat this again. Its very warm, soft, and crunchy. It comes with a ricotta and olive oil spread.

Appetizers we had included mussels with red sauce, fried calamari, shrimp toast and a pizza; all of which we enjoyed. I had a bowl of their lentil soup, which was delicious, and tasted like it was from my mom's kitchen. The waiter told us it was a special so I am not sure how often that is on the menu, but it you are a fan of lentils, you should order it!

For entree we had linguine with clams, shrimp lemon cream sauce in a pasta, octopus with squid ink linguine, pappardelle with beef short rib and the pan seared chicken. We all enjoyed our entrees.

The menu is heavy on pastas and seafood, and all of which that we had were fresh and hit the spot.

We did not try dessert this time, but we plan on eventually returning to try some other dishes and maybe play some bocce. There was a DJ who played a nice mix of hits for a casual Saturday night out.

The one kink in their system is with their service as our waiter was polite but struggled to recite the specials; he seemed a bit nervous. Also when it came to refilling our water, we had to work hard to flag someone down. This, we suspect will improve with time. This property has turned over several times in the past but hopefully Il Pallino is there to stay.

Went to Il Pallino on Saturday, October 13th. As soon as we sat, we were instantly given the complimentary "Bocce Bread" which is accompanied by a Ricotta/olive oil/crushed red pepper (amazing combo) spread. We were with a very large group, and everything on the appetizer menu looked amazing so it felt like we ordered one of everything. We were so glad we did because there wasn't one appetizer that disappointed. My personal favorite was the calamari, both regular and this amazing spicy version.

Entree exceeded expectations as well. I ordered the scallops over a squid ink pasta with garlic and oil. Pasta was cooked to perfection and the scallops were on point.

Cabernet sorbet was out of control to top off the meal. I ate so much, i couldn't even breathe, let alone play bocce, but i will be back for more!

Very mice set up. They actually have 2 bocce courts in the place! We were tired after a long day at work so didn't play. We were a party of 4 and loved the fried calamari, meatball appetizer, veal spedini, shrimp fafelle, and a chicken dish. Drinks were on point as was the service. Pretty empty for a Friday night. I hope they survive!

New place waiters still getting kinks out. Food was delish and the indoor bocce court by the bar was fun. Dj was too loud. They need to advertise more. Place was empty and then people won't enjoy their delish bread or tasty dishes place has potential

      Sangria was ok lacked umph
Scallops with squid ink pasta was very tasty

Meant to post this last month but time got away from me. Better late than never!

A big shout out to Il Pallino for hosting the Staten Island Food Holiday Dinner and Comedy Show. What a fun evening! Thank you to Michael Lombardi and his wonderful staff for the excellent food and service.

Photo highlights of some the dishes I really enjoyed

      * 4 cheeses stuffed Artichoke Bottoms. I am an artichoke fanatic! I think this was the crowd winner of the night!

      * Old-school Brooklyn Panelle sandwich slathered in ricotta cheese is everything dreams are made of.

      * Shrimp Toast with grilled shrimp and roasted heirloom tomato over a toasted French bread slice, comes with a drizzle of pesto over the top.

      * The Caramelized Onion Chicken Wings put their Buffalo counterparts to shame

      * Those Baked Clams and Meatball Sliders

The food from the buffet was a very good mix of salad, penne vodka, fried calamari, eggplant rollatini, chicken francese, and gemelli with vegetables in a pesto sauce.

The company was amazing, the food was amazing - we got so much love for you. Special thanks to the comedians that ended our night with a bang!
